Responsibilities:

· Partners with internal teams and technical product managers to deliver improvements to the platform


· Establish and accepts responsibility for engineering best practices across teams for example the code review, build and release process and the effectiveness of the retrospective


· Apply specialized knowledge of industry standards or practices to assigned initiatives in order to identify complex and or broad problems and issues and formulate recommendations


· Collaborates with leadership across teams to define solutions, technical implementation to drive software maturity and practices


· People Leader to individual scrum team, including colleagues and contractors, dotted line leadership to similarly placed colleagues in scrum team(s)


· Drives the team’s technical improvements and roadmap


· Takes accountability for the technical maturity of the team


· Mentor and guide team members to success; identify strengths and areas for growth in direct reports and guides them to grow in their careers while being more productive on the team


· Nurture an environment of continuous engineering improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics


· Working with Engineering Director to hire top talent for the team



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications


  • · Preferably a BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • · Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities
  • · A self-starter with the ability to question status-quo and manage ambiguity.
  • · Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutions
  • · Willingness to learn new technologies and exploit them to their optimal potential
  • · Prior experience of formal or informal people leadership role will be a plus.
  • · Strong experience building Pega PRPC environment, configuration, and troubleshooting. In depth experience implementing Pega PRPC on Linux based systems.
  • · Expertise in programming knowledge in Java - Solid understanding of data structures and common algorithms
  • · Good knowledge of SOA and Microservices architecture with hands-on experience of design and implementation of Web Services/API using REST/SOAP
  • · Design, develop, and implement business applications using Pega PRPC
  • · Experience integrating with external systems using industry standard protocols such REST, SOAP, JMS and similar such. 
  • · Work with the administration and development teams to ensure that designs effectively accommodate long-term maintainability, supportability, robustness, and scalability of software solutions 
  • · Keeping abreast of patches including minor and major version releases 
  • · Responsible for development and maintenance operational health of Pega PRPC application through monitoring, using all available tools in WAS, PDC and AppDynamics 
  • · Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity. 
  • · Experience with building a variety of highly available redundant Enterprise and Open-source Middleware application servers, configuration, and troubleshooting. 
  • · Experience with the successful implementation of Pega Platform in a high availability enterprise environment 
  • · Experience in Pega Administration, Release Management, Devops, Application Servers, Linux Operating System, and Database activities 
  • · Experience in Pega Frameworks & Pega AES installations and configurations. 
  • · Collaborate with development teams to deploy new releases, patches, and hotfixes, and ensure smooth migration of applications between environments. 
  • · Configure and manage application servers, web servers, and other infrastructure components to support Pega applications. 
  • · Managing user access, implementing security protocols; ensuring the overall stability and performance of Pega applications 
  • · Implement changes in the production environment, including patches, updates, and configuration changes, following established change management procedures 
  • · Handle service requests from business and operations teams related to Pega application enhancements, user access, and configuration changes. 
  • · Investigation / Analysis / Fixing of Production incidents. Managing the health of Production systems. Ensuring SLAs are met. 
  • · Performance Troubleshooting and tuning, experience implementing high availability solutions like Always on, Clustering, Mirroring etc.
  • · Certified Pega Senior System Architect & IBM WebSphere Certified System Administrator Preferred.
