Position Description:


The J.P. Morgan Payments Pricing team is responsible for analysis used to drive strategic pricing decisions and the development of tools used to execute or augment pricing activity in the business. With broad scope covering data analysis and recommendation-based problem solving, as well as design, development, maintenance, and  governance of pricing tools used by our sales teams and thus making an impact on business. As a strategic partner to Sales, Product and other internal stakeholders, the Team will centralize and streamline deal pricing cycle activities from deal profitability modelling to pricing implementation. The Team will also function as a centre of excellence for deal pricing activities, pricing approvals governance, local pricing practices and intelligence across different markets


Job Summary :


As a Pricing Associate in the Payments Pricing team, you will be supporting the Treasury Services Pricing Team. You will be responsible to work on TS Pricing models, producing the pricing calculations/recommendations for APAC, North American and Global Platform Cases, streamlining the pricing process, performing pricing validations and ad-hoc analysis on the attrition and growth curves, help in pricing benchmarking, integration/implementation of new strategies, and preparing reports which might be relevant and provide insight and decision support to the business and the leadership teams. Your responsibilities would include executing end-to-end deal pricing activities in partnership with Sales, while advising on pricing intelligence, local pricing standards and best practices in APAC (& Global) in order to form competitive and profitable pricing proposals.


Job responsibilities


  • Work closely with Sales teams to execute deal profitability modelling for large & complex deals, and to prepare deal pricing proposals that optimize the balance between share of Client wallet with deal profitability.
  • Guide Sales as a strategic adviser on local standard pricing, pricing benchmarks, local nuances and best practices in APAC markets, based on data-driven insights and accumulated deal experience. 
  • Support Sales in preparing deal financials for deal governance committee reviews, and coordinate and obtain required pricing approvals from senior leadership in Product and Sales.
  • Instruct and oversee the implementation of accurate pricing set-up in back-end systems, by validating implemented pricing set-ups and client billing statements. 
  • Support Treasury Services pricing initiatives, such as recurring reprices, client maintenance, data modelling, document and batch file management, client and employee communications, as well as ad-hoc special projects and requests as needed
  • Use and query data from disparate sources and work cross functionally to develop pricing strategies to improve revenue for the J.P. Morgan Payments business
  • Work on complex financial models for new and existing pricing strategies
  • Adhoc analysis as required including financial modelling, support of customer requests & customer profitability
  • Manage the work and priorities with the team in an independent manner with good work ethics.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:


  • Minimum of 5 years’ of work experience with MNCs/Payments Industry
  • Possess strong analytical and financial analysis skills, the ability to work successfully across teams, and have experience utilizing SQL and big data environments
  • Intermediate/Advance Excel, SQL, and working knowledge of financial modelling
  • Logical and Analytical approach to data analysis, keen eye to identify trends/patterns and experience in deep diving to determine root cause and propose solutions
  • Capability to navigate multiple data sets and synthesize into cohesive presentation and recommendations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and self-manage deadlines and deliverables, clearly articulating progress and milestones
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders: firm-wide, functional Finance and lines of business teams to ensure the timely, accurate and effective delivery of recurring and ad-hoc initiatives
  • Excellent skills and articulation on all mode - written, verbal and present to senior management

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills


  • Degree in Mathematics/ Economics /Statistics/Finance/Business – MBA preferred
  • Desire to learn quickly, be flexible and think strategically
  • Team oriented, inquisitive, critical thinker who anticipates questions from internal clients and management
  • Previous experience with analysis/strategy with fact based writing skills along with storytelling and presentation skills in a concise and confident manner
  • Prior experience in SQL, Alteryx, QlikView, Tableau, VB Macros, complex excel formulas, datasets within Excel, pivot tables and/or BI tools preferred
  • SharePoint experience will be preferred
