Project description Network Engineer (Switching, Routing, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP stack, Python, MPLS on Cisco, Arista, and Aruba technologies) Responsibilities Design and build the network infrastructure projects and technology initiatives based on the customer or business requirements Perform all phases of network engineering, including requirements analysis, network design, and implementation Lead network migrations, remediations, and integrations Participate in reviewing and approval of proposed network design and changes, and ensuring they are aligned to network standards Work with Project Management/Design Teams to translate initial scope into actionable items Review designs and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and produce solutions as required Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and participate in the decision making for the acquisition of current/new technologies for the customer network environment Develop reusable designs and encourage innovation that will enable team velocity Explore emerging technologies Provide effective engineering by demonstrating ownership and accountability for all assigned tasks and projects Define, document, and adhere to technical and operational standards Document solutions risks, issues and mitigation strategies Create and maintain network diagrams and method of procedure (MOP) Provide forward thinking and be agile in adopting new technologies to meet evolving business requirements Provide peer reviews to deployment engineers to ensure design compliance Perform after-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance as required Act as level 3 escalation and on-call support for high-severity issues and available to work after hours Skills Must have 4+ years of extensive Network Engineering experience. LAN/WAN Wireless Enterprise Networks TCP/IP Fundamentals Routing and Switching Protocols: BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, VTP, Cisco and Aruba LAN Switching QoS, HSRP, IP SLA, DHCP, DNS, Netflow, TACACS, Cisco ISE, Dot1x, IPSEC Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki Wireless Technologies ServiceNOW, HP Openview, NNMi, Splunk, Rally Skilled in a scripting language such as Python Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment Documentation skills and use of programs such as Visio Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to cross between technical and non-technical audiences Nice to have CCNP Certification, SDWAN Certification or equivalent experience is a plus Palo Alto, CISCO ASA SDWAN (Cisco Viptela and Meraki), MPLS, Metro-E, Site-to-Site VPN WAN Optimization Other Languages English: C2 Proficient Seniority Senior
