About the role

The Infra SME - Engineering is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity, stability, and performance of one or more infrastructure platforms in production. The role provides senior-level operational and technical leadership, ensuring platforms are run efficiently, incidents are resolved effectively, changes are safely implemented, and continuous improvement initiatives are driven to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction.



  • Candidate with strong knowledge on designing and troubleshooting of VCF stack (VMware cloud foundation), VMWare virtual infrastructures (SDDC stack) and its advanced components (VRA, NSX, VCD, VSAN, VRO, VROPs, etc.).
  • Act as a senior escalation point for L2/L3 teams, leading crisis response, root-cause analysis, and permanent fixes. Delivered L3 support for complex VCF/VMware/public cloud issues.
  • Own the technical integrity, availability, and performance of assigned datacenter platforms in production.
  • Maintain detailed platform documentation designs, configurations, SOPs and recovery runbooks.
  • Support transition of new workload domains or customer environments into operations, ensuring proper monitoring and support readiness.
  • Conduct performance tuning and identify infrastructure optimization opportunities and participate in periodic platform reviews.
  • Oversee lifecycle management (LCM) of the VCF stack, including upgrade planning, patch application, and validation of SDDC Manager components
  • Lead technical validation and coordination of complex infrastructure changes, participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) when required, and ensure risk-controlled implementation.
  • Act as the technical authority for complex design decisions, reviewing and validating high-level and low-level designs. Work closely with pre-sales and solution teams to support new business.
  • Drive platform industrialization and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance profitability.
  • Identify release management needs, capacity expansion requirements, and equipment upgrades in coordination with capacity and engineering teams.
  • Serve as the technical reference for the customer solution across operations, delivery, and engineering teams, ensuring consistent understanding of platform behavior and constraints.
  • Act as the privileged technical interlocutor with architecture and engineering teams regarding platform evolution, extensions, and long-term improvements.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for provisioning and operational procedures to ensure consistency, scalability, and reliability of platforms.Mentor team members in advanced VCF troubleshooting, automation, and VMware ecosystem technologies
  • Support transition of new platforms or projects into operations by validating operational readiness, documentation, monitoring setup, and support processes.
  • Interface with customer technical stakeholders during operational reviews, escalations, and service improvement discussions.
