Your role and responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer for CI/CD Pipeline Development and Firmware Verification, you will be responsible for establishing robust, scalable CI/CD infrastructure for zSystems firmware development while building deep expertise in the firmware lifecycle. You will also support firmware functional verification by applying automation and CI/CD skills to improve test efficiency, coverage, and overall product quality.




Key Responsibilities




.Hybrid Pipeline Integration:Build and maintain CI/CD workflows that orchestrate testing across simulation environments, including API-driven platforms and physical hardware racks.




.Automated Lab Orchestration:Develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) infrastructure, including automated power cycling, remote firmware flashing, and serial log capture.




.Build System Engineering:Optimize and containerize Docker-based firmware toolchains, including GCC and CMake environments, to ensure reproducible and high-speed builds for enterprise-scale codebases.




.Artifact & Release Management:Manage the lifecycle of firmware binaries, ensuring secure versioning, code signing, and metadata tracking for enterprise compliance.




Automation Frameworks & Verification Support:Design and develop automation frameworks in collaboration with cross-functional firmware verification teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. Enable firmware functional verification through automation, continuous testing, and effective integration of CI/CD infrastructure with validation workflows.

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Strong proficiency in Python and Bash/Shell scripting for automation, orchestration, and test workflow integration.
  • Proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Linux/Unix environments, Git-based workflows, and container technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience integrating build systems, automated testing, artifact management, and infrastructure automation in complex engineering environments.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with firmware, software, validation, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills in a fast-paced product development environment.


Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design, and release automation for firmware, embedded, or systems software environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of build orchestration, automated test execution, artifact lifecycle management, and deployment governance.
  • Experience integrating simulation-based validation, hardware lab infrastructure, and hardware-in-the-loop automation into CI/CD workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash/Shell scripting for workflow automation, environment provisioning, and test framework integration.
  • Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar enterprise automation platforms.
  • Good understanding of Linux/Unix administration, Git-based development workflows, containerization, and infrastructure automation practices.
  • Experience working with firmware, verification, validation, or system architecture teams in complex product development environments.
  • Knowledge of automated test frameworks such as Robot Framework, pytest, or similar tools for continuous verification.
  • Familiarity with artifact repositories, code-signing practices, release traceability, and compliance-oriented engineering workflows.
  • Understanding of hardware/firmware interfaces, enterprise server platforms, and power/thermal-aware system validation is an added advantage.
