Job description

Key Responsibilities :


  • Utilities operations & maintenance: Oversee boilers, compressed air, steam, refrigeration, etc., ensuring uptime, performance within set parameters (pressure, temperature, flow), and minimal disruption to production.
  • Compliance & HSE: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental and regulatory standards; prepare for and support audits/inspections. 
  • Team leadership: Assign work, coach, develop, and appraise utilities technicians to sustain high operational standards.
  • Policies & procedures: Develop and implement plant‑operations policies, systems, and procedures to meet legislative and quality requirements. 
  • Preventive & predictive maintenance: Plan and execute PM programs; conduct routine inspections; maintain accurate usage and maintenance logs.
  • Troubleshooting & reliability: Diagnose failures, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions; coordinate shutdowns and upgrades.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration: Work with Production/Engineering to align utility capacity with schedules; manage contractors and service providers.
  • Projects: Plan and manage utility upgrades, repairs, and projects (scope, budget, resources, timelines). 
  • Reporting & analytics: Provide regular updates on performance, maintenance, and energy consumption; prepare monthly/annual utility reports and incident reports. 
  • Financial stewardship: Prepare and manage OPEX (R&M) and CAPEX plans for utilities; forecast consumption; identify cost‑saving opportunities and control overruns

Requirements 


Education (Must): Bachelor’s in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.


Experience (Must): 7–10 years in utilities management within an FMCG manufacturing environment. 


Technical Competencies (Must):


  • Deep knowledge of water/steam/compressed air/refrigeration systems and their maintenance.
  • Maintenance process management (technical, cost, people) and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Energy efficiency & consumption monitoring; regulatory/HSE compliance in utilities.
  • Contractor/vendor management; coordination during shutdowns and upgrades.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills; computer literacy/CMMS familiarity.

Behavioral/Leadership (Must):


  • Ability to lead and inspire maintenance teams; clear technical communication to mixed audiences.

Nice to Have: Familiarity with sustainability standards/certifications related to utilities management.
