At Sumerge, our Platform Engineering team is at the core of our operational excellence, setting up robust infrastructure and integrating cutting-edge DevOps tools across diverse projects and client environments.
The team specializes in deploying and managing container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Redhat OpenShift, and expertly configures databases such as MongoDB, event streaming platforms like Kafka to ensure seamless, scalable, and secure operations.
By automating and optimizing our development pipelines, our platform engineers enable our development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions faster and more efficiently.
Responsibilities Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions using container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Redhat OpenShift.
Configure and manage middleware technologies and databases such as Kafka, MongoDB, MS SQL, Redis ensuring data consistency, security, and accessibility.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.
Collaborate with development teams to understand their infrastructure needs and provide expert guidance.
Design and implement observability and monitoring solutions.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and efficiency.
Stay abreast of new technologies and continuously improve our infrastructure architecture based on evolving project and client needs.
Guide and mentor junior engineers.
B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
5+ years of experience in platform engineering, system administration, or a related field Strong expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift, with proven experience in deploying and managing scalable applications.
Solid understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools, and experience with DevOps automation tools (Jenkins , azure-DevOps , Gitlab-ci , Tekton).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Experience in Redhat Enterprise Linux operating system and Windows server Understanding DevOps practices and processes.
Demonstrated ability in security design and implementation practices, specifically in securing platforms and data in on-prem and cloud environment, including the implementation of security protocols and compliance measures.
Bonus Points Experience with Redhat ACM , ACS Experience with deploying and administrating confluent/Kafka/MongoDB Experience with IBM cloudpaks Experience with Ansible/Teraform
