Role Overview

The key function of this role is to support UPS and Digital Solutions project tenders from initial review through final quotation to ensure project requirements are adequately met. The Senior UPS / Digital Solutions Tendering Engineer will be a critical player in helping Eaton deliver winning, profitable bids with a clear scope of work and accurate technical and commercial commitments.

This role requires interpreting technical packages (drawings, specifications, BOQs) to identify where Eaton’s UPS, critical power, and digital power solutions fit, and to ensure full technical alignment, including agreed CDEs (Comply–Deviate–Exceptions) for all tender technical aspects.

This role is office‑based and requires strong communication skills and effective work organization to support a wide range of internal and external stakeholders while meeting agreed turnaround times. The successful candidate will be a critical power and digital electrical infrastructure expert, with experience supporting large and complex projects and understanding the challenges associated with mission‑critical environments such as data centers and infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Analyze incoming RFQs (Request for Quotation) from customers related to UPS, critical power, and digital power solutions.
  • Determine Eaton’s ability to meet customer requirements through the interpretation of tender documents and clarification with both customers and internal product support and digital solution owners.
  • Ensure Eaton’s offer is technically aligned with customer specifications and participate in go / no‑go decision meetings.
  • Ensure CDE (Comply, Deviate, Exception) documentation is complete and that the final Eaton offer fully reflects customer technical requirements, particularly for UPS architectures, redundancy, autonomy, monitoring, and digital integrations.
  • Coordinate with sales, applications, consultants, product owners, digital teams, and the wider tender team to ensure Eaton bids are competitive, solution‑driven, and inspire customer confidence.
  • Assist in the preparation of costing using standard processes and tools.
  • Support the development and review of offer documentation to ensure consistency with the proposed UPS and digital solutions and customer requirements.
  • Ensure proposed systems and equipment meet customer operational, performance, and reliability expectations.
  • Meet agreed tender timelines and keep all stakeholders informed of progress, risks, or constraints.
  • Perform technical risk and opportunity analysis related to critical power and digital solutions.
  • Prepare for tender reviews and ensure the right submission deliverables are provided to strategic customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BSc / MSc) or equivalent in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering, presales, or tendering within a Services & Projects environment, supporting large‑scale Commercial, Industrial, Infrastructure, or Data Center projects.
  • Experience with UPS systems, critical power solutions, or digital power management is strongly preferred.
  • Data Center or similar mission‑critical power system experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Eaton or similar industry product portfolios (UPS, critical power systems, digital power platforms, backup power solutions) is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • UPS systems, redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N), autonomy, and battery technologies
    • Digital power and monitoring solutions
    • Backup and critical power infrastructure
  • Ability to review and interpret specifications, drawings, and tender documents.
  • Knowledge of automation and monitoring systems (e.g. BMS, SCADA, DCIM); design or commissioning knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong technical analysis and problem‑solving capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Fluent technical English (spoken and written).

What We Offer:
Competitive compensation and benefits package – including health insurance, transportation allowance, and support for children’s schooling!
• Exciting, challenging projects in a dynamic and collaborative team environment
• We invest in your future – Eaton encourages internal promotions whenever possible. Your growth matters, so we provide ongoing learning & development opportunities through Eaton University.
• We make your contributions matter - reliability, safety, efficiency, and sustainability are at the core of our dedication to improving people’s lives and the environment through power management technologies
