Mission

JOB PURPOSE: 



The Jr Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for administrating the organization’s IT infrastructure services to ensure approved service levels are met or exceeded in alignment with contractual obligations. Reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure, this role serves as a foundational pillar in maintaining system reliability, security, and the seamless delivery of digital services to all internal and external customers.



Profile

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 



Network & Infrastructure Operations



•Manage and configure network switches, including the installation, upgrading, and initial setup of hardware to ensure robust connectivity.



•Diagnose connectivity issues and technical faults within network equipment, performing necessary repairs or escalations to minimize downtime.



•Maintain the VMware virtual environment and monitor data center activities to ensure optimal hardware performance and environmental stability.



•Shadow the deployment and maintenance of all IT systems, including servers, operating systems, and hardware, to support long-term infrastructure development.



Cloud Administration & Automation



•Support the administration of Azure services, including compute instances, Azure Backup, Site Recovery, and Express Route.



•Execute basic automation tasks for environment deployment using PowerShell scripts to increase operational efficiency.



•Configure and monitor Azure Storage, snapshots, and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to ensure secure identity management.



•Administer Azure Storage Monitor to track resource utilization and provide proactive alerts on capacity or performance issues.



Security, Compliance & Documentation



•Monitor daily backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) processes, reviewing logs regularly to ensure the sustainability of corporate data protection policies.



•Provide necessary backup logs and system reports required for internal or external audit procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.



•Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including hardware/software inventories, network diagrams (physical and logical), and server configurations.



•Proactively monitor systems to safeguard the availability, security, and integrity of the corporate network against unauthorized access.



Safety Responsibilities:



•Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace and attend any safety-related meetings or briefings as required within the job role.



•Comply with the requirements of RDMC RQHSE Policy and Safety Management System.



•Be mindful that Safety, Security, and Environmental protection are everyone’s responsibility. All staff members are accountable for reporting and intervening in any Safety, Security, or Environmental violations.



ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE



QUALIFICATIONS: 



•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Engineering field.



•Possession of (or active progress toward) CCNA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or VMware Certified Professional (VCP), will be advantages.



KNOWLEDGE: 



•Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configurations.



•Proficiency with Windows Server 2022, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft 365 administration.



•Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and basic ISO 27001 information security standards.



EXPERIENCE: 



•0–3 years of professional experience in an IT support or junior administration role.
