Area Sales Manager MENEAT Travel Retail

Position:

As the Area Sales Manager for GTR in Egypt, you will:


  • Lead the management of all GTR commercial activities across airport duty free, shipchandling, downtown duty free, border shops, and emerging channels
  • Translate global and regional sales, distribution, and through-the-line marketing strategies into locally tailored execution plans that improve visibility, share, and commercial results
  • Manage day-to-day commercial operations, including order management, pricing execution, promotional planning, cycle activities, merchandising, product availability, and in-store visibility excellence
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key customers, operators, concession partners, and distributors to ensure alignment, compliance, and efficient execution of agreed plans
  • Gather and analyze comprehensive performance data (I-sales, IMS, invoicing, stock levels, investments, tracking important metrics) to identify growth opportunities, highlight risks, and recommend strategic actions
  • Develop and implement local account plans while contributing to International Key Account (IKA) strategy, ensuring store-level engagement that drives traffic, conversion, and total basket value
  • Prepare and align Annual Business Plans and Latest Estimates, including historical performance reviews, SWOT analysis, investment planning, margin targets, and long-term forecasting
  • Work closely with Retail Sales Consultants (via 3rd-party agencies) by mentoring, guiding, and ensuring high-quality brand activation and outstanding consumer engagement in stores
  • Coordinate additional projects and assignments as required to support organizational priorities and commercial opportunities
Requirements:
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Fluent English and Arabic
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, distribution, channel management, or field trade marketing - preferably within FMCG or Travel Retail
  • Proven expertise in managing consumer and trade promotions, in-store execution standards, pricing implementation, visibility programs, and sales cycle processes
  • Strong advantage: experience collaborating with duty free operators (airport, shipchandling, downtown duty free, border shops)
  • Advantage: background in Global Travel Retail and/or tobacco category
  • Outstanding commercial competence with the ability to manage budgets, evaluate financial drivers, analyze important metrics, identify business opportunities, and propose actionable solutions
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills, particularly when working with international operators and concession collaborators
  • Ability to navigate complex commercial environments with multiple partners, diverse regulatory conditions, and high operational expectations
  • Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities, with a solid command of Microsoft Office and data-driven decision-making tools
  • Agile, structured, and able to operate independently with a high level of accountability and field presence
