Wood is recruiting for a Senior Manager Supply Chain, APAC.  This is a permanent senior leadership role responsible for the functional leadership, strategy, performance and governance of Supply Chain across APAC, operating within a diverse, multi-country, matrix organisation.  Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) is the preferred location, however exceptional candidates based in Kuala Belait (Brunei Darussalam), Muntinlupa City (Philippines), Chonburi (Thailand) or Singapore are encouraged to apply, reflecting the regional scope of the position.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Vice President, Technical, APAC, you will be a key business partner and sit on the APAC Technical Leadership team and help shape APAC business strategy and performance. You will be responsible for the leadership and management of the supply chain function across Asia Pacific (APAC) providing all aspects of supply chain management including materials management, warehousing, expediting, procurement, subcontracts, negotiation, reporting and bid support. 

In this highly visible role, you will be accountable for Supply Chain across a diverse and geographically spread supply chain, setting and delivering functional strategy and key functional / business objectives: - cost savings, working capital improvement, people development, operational/regional synergy efficiencies, insourcing, personnel deployment, policy adherence.  

You will be responsible for adding value through identifying efficiencies, driving out waste and reducing costs from within the supply chain, implementing and driving Supply Chain Management (SCM) improvement plans, development of the supply chain teams, driving processes and systems improvement and embedding compliance, assurance and common ways of working.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

• Responsible for strategic direction of function and delivery of both near and long-term business objectives for APAC
• Core member of Supply Chain Leadership team supporting APAC business strategy and delivery of business objectives
• Act as an agent of change in developing and implementing Supply Chain improvement initiatives and projects to deliver efficiency, reduce costs, support growth and embed controls across the business in relation to all third party spend.
• Support tendering activities and development of specific supply chains strategies to support business growth including category strategies
• Identifying resource requirements and deploying to work assignments to meet operational and development needs
• Implement robust performance management and development plans for the team, ensuring any gaps are addressed and development and succession planning is managed effectively
• Provide effective functional leadership and governance to all deployed teams
• Manage and provide direction in resolution of key SCM risk and compliance issues
• Ensure integration of all business units to ensure consistency of process, leverage of spend and ultimately One Wood Supply Chain
• Implementation and management of effective materials management processes across the region
• Delivery against internal and external in year savings targets as per business plan and effective reporting of such
• Support growth across the business by promoting insourcing and cross selling opportunities and the prevention of leakage of spend outside of the business
• Identify and deliver ‘bottom up’ buying opportunities for Leadership Team

Expected:

Qualifications:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Law or a related discipline.  CIPS qualification or industry equivalent would be advantageous.

Experience:

Ideally you will have a minimum of 15 years of proven Supply Chain experience, including leadership of a Supply Chain function at a regional or multi‑country level, within complex, safety critical operating environments (Oil & Gas / Minerals & Metals / Heavy Industrial).  

In addition, you will:

• Have demonstrated HSSEA leadership with a clear commitment to safe, ethical and compliant operations, embedding a positive safety culture across diverse teams
• Have proven expertise across strategic and tactical procurement, subcontracting, framework agreements, supplier relationship management, and tender execution.
• Have an excellent understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain principles, ERP systems, and transformation leadership.
• Have a proven track record delivering supply chain transformation, cost and margin improvement, process optimisation, and robust commercial outcomes, including negotiations, claims, audits, and post‑award mobilisation.
• Have experience managing complex stakeholder and delivery environments while working cross functionally, with an ability to build effective partnerships within the region and globally 
• Be an articulate and influential communicator, with clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, including professional report writing and senior level presentations
• Be a leader of people, capable of influencing, coaching and engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation to energise diverse and geographically dispersed teams to adopt best practice, pursuing continuous improvement, with safety at the heart of everything we do
• Be customer focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood
