This role is responsible for managing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic insights to support the growth of our date farming and manufacturing business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within agriculture or manufacturing, with expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Analyze financial data to provide insights on production costs, gross margins, and operational efficiency specific to date farming and processing.
Develop and manage budgets for farming operations, manufacturing processes, and distribution. Create financial forecasts to guide resource
allocation, considering seasonal variations in date production and market demand.
Implement cost accounting practices to track production costs, including labor, irrigation, and processing expenses. Oversee inventory accounting
for raw dates, processed products, and packaging materials to ensure accurate stock valuation and minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, including agricultural and manufacturing standards. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard
assets and mitigate financial risks, such as price volatility in agricultural markets.
Monitor cash inflows and outflows to maintain liquidity for operational needs, such as seasonal labor costs and equipment maintenance.
Optimize payment schedules for suppliers and vendors in the supply chain.
Lead the preparation for and coordination of external audits, ensuring all financial records meet generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee day-
to-day accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
Analyze manufacturing variances, such as production costs and yield inefficiencies, to identify cost-saving opportunities. Monitor agricultural
metrics, such as crop yields and irrigation costs, to optimize farm profitability.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or
food processing industries is strongly preferred. Familiarity with date farming or similar agricultural operations is a plus.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP systems like SAP or Oracle). Advanced knowledge of Excel
Deep understanding of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of agricultural financial metrics, such as
crop yield analysis and seasonal cost forecasting.
In-depth understanding of GAAP or IFRS, as well as compliance requirements for agricultural and manufacturing operations, including tax
regulations and export/import standards.
