Reporting directly to the Construction Superintendent, this position will be responsible for day to day and forward planning of the works program, including OH&S, QA, equipment requirements and team toolbox talks. The successful candidate is required to have an excellent understanding of working drawings and instruction, as part of coordinating multi cultured trades to ensure the safe and timely execution of work scopes.

Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated capability in Civil Construction; and/or bulk earthworks
- Demonstrated experience in managing Pipelines, Road construction, ROW development, and Earthworks projects
- Strong leadership skills; coaching and mentoring team members
- Strong awareness of safety on construction & earthworks projects, site, plant and equipment.
- Awareness of appropriate sub-contractors and suppliers as part of a multi-cultural team environment
- Plans and controls the Construction interface between site and head office
- Conducts daily toolbox talks with site labour at the beginning of each day
- Accountable for site planning and resource management including subcontractors to ensure safe and timely execution of work activities as per project plans
- Provides oversight to the execution of work packs and is responsible for time allocation against approved budgets
- Ensures the coordination of quality assurance and quality control requirements in line with work pack instructional material
- Accountable for site progress reporting and identifying any opportunities / issues in a timely manner
- Sets and maintains the quality of the drawing as builds, timely certification sign off and close out of work packs
- Ensure material, tools and equipment are fit for purpose, checked and certified prior to use;
- Actively input to Construction estimate / CTR’s (in collaboration with the Construction Engineers)
- Clarification of roles and responsibilities of site team
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years’ experience civil construction, especially Right of Way (ROW), earthworks
- Demonstrates technical expertise, integrity and the ability to influence and challenge others to behave in ways consistent with the interest of the organisation
- Demonstrates sound, fact-based decision making, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors to help teams achieve goals
- Proven experience in supervising civil operations
- Demonstrated strong commitment to safety
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral
- International assignment/project experience in similar roles will be highly regarded.
