Deputy General Manager

Job Purpose:

To support the Engineering General Manager in leading, coordinating, and optimizing all engineering operations—ensuring projects, technical solutions, and maintenance activities are executed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role also focuses on aligning engineering functions with business objectives, enhancing operational performance, and ensuring high client satisfaction through the delivery of advanced technology solutions and services.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Budget & Cost Control

• Develop the division’s budget and monitor spending to ensure all engineering activities remain within the approved financial limits.

Policies & Procedures

• Develop and implement engineering policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with overall company standards and regulatory compliance.

Management Activities

• Support the Engineering General Manager in managing departmental operations to meet performance targets, KPIs, and strategic goals.
• Participate in formulating engineering strategies and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate daily operations across engineering projects, maintenance, and sales support.
• Assist in the planning, execution, and closure of engineering projects, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
• Review project status reports and contribute to risk identification and mitigation.
• Monitor adherence to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
• Support quality control initiatives across engineering functions.
• Act as a liaison between engineers and senior management, facilitating communication and resolving technical or operational issues.
• Assist in supplier evaluation, procurement planning, and driving cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with sales and client service teams to ensure technical solutions align with client needs.
• Attend client meetings and site visits as needed.
• Prepare regular reports on project progress, departmental KPIs, and engineering performance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Engineering General Manager.

Job Requirements:

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field is a plus.

Work Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in engineering, project management, or related fields.

Language Skills

• Proficiency in both English and Arabic.
