The Role EAII is transitioning from a centralized accounting structure to a decentralized operating model, wherein state office finance teams will independently manage expense accounting, while payments will continue to be processed centrally by the Head Office.
You will report directly to the Finance Controller and will play a critical part in enabling and overseeing this transition.
You will manage and supervise 7–9 state-level Finance & Operations teams across India, ensuring accurate expense booking in Tally, adherence to defined workflows, compliance with statutory requirements, and maintenance of audit-ready documentation standards.
The role requires driving consistency and quality across geographically dispersed operations through structured oversight, regular review mechanisms, timely interventions, and clear communication of expectations.
Responsibilities Team Management and Capacity Building Collaborate with State Program Managers and HO leadership in setting KRAs and performance expectations for state finance teams.
Conduct regular review meetings, feedback discussions, and joint performance evaluations.
Identify capability gaps and facilitate continuous capacity building through training and on-the-job guidance, particularly in areas such as Tally operations, taxation, documentation standards, and compliance processes.
Oversight of Expense Booking and Accounts Payable Processes Review expense bookings processed by state teams, including vendor invoices, reimbursements, petty cash transactions, rental payments, consultant payments, and workshop-related expenses.
Ensure correctness of accounting heads, cost center allocations, and adherence to the chart of accounts and accounting policies.
Monitor timely monthly book closures, with heightened oversight during calendar year-end (December) and financial year-end (March) closing periods.
Monitoring Tax and Statutory Compliance Ensure appropriate deduction and deposit of TDS on applicable transactions.
Oversee accurate GST accounting, including Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM) entries relating to transport services, rent from unregistered vendors, legal services, and other applicable transactions.
Track timely filing of state-level GST returns and related compliances.
Keep state finance teams informed of changes in tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Ensuring Audit-Ready Documentation Ensure adherence to prescribed documentation and digital filing protocols, including maintenance of records on Google Drive by voucher category, month, and state.
Verify availability and completeness of supporting documents such as agreements, invoices, approvals, and calculation sheets.
Conduct periodic documentation reviews to ensure audit preparedness and policy compliance.
Reporting and Process Improvement Prepare consolidated MIS reports and dashboards covering state-wise expenses, book closure status, and compliance metrics for the Director – F&O.
Serve as a coordination point between state teams and Head Office for payment-related queries and policy clarifications.
Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend improvements to workflows, SOPs, and financial processes.
