About the team: IT Advance Analytics team is focused on unlocking the value of data as it exists within Akzonobel operations / systems. We're an eclectic team of data-oriented “doers” who love to take on new challenges, are always learning, and looking for ways to improve decision-making.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Functional Engineer Reporting - is responsible for developing, maintaining, modelling and visualization for Global SC Analytics solutions to improve performance and achieve the Supply Chain of the future vision.

It will be based in GBS – Pune organization & reports to the Supply Chain Advanced Analytics Portfolio Lead which is part of the AkzoNobel global IT deliver organization, which aims to use data-driven techniques and methodologies to uncover insights, support decision-making, and drive business strategies.

You will be partnering with Supply Chain COE teams, business teams to understand the supply chain needs, collaborate with the IT organization to develop analytical reports. You will also be responsible for delivering of the required solutions used for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive & prescriptive analytics of ISC deliver domain.

Requirement Gathering:

• Work with Supply Chain – BPMs, Product owners (Customer ops, Warehouse, Trade – Import, Export, Logistics, S&OE, Network strategy) to understand & document needs

• Discuss & align with internal architects/ product owners on the design & implementations of Data analytics solutions using SAP system, MS Azure Data platform and Microsoft PowerBI.

​ ​Solution design & development:  

• ​Develop new solution – Dashboards, reports, using Power BI
• Partner with internal team members to have data transformation using Databricks

• ​Design, develop and maintain data pipelines to extract data from different sources

• ​Fetch and embed data from SAP HANA, BW, Azure SQL, Excel, flat files, SharePoint list, Delta Lake, Databricks etc. 

• ​Perform data transformation, Data modeling - [joints, exclusion, enrichment, pivoting, un-pivoting etc.]

• ​Integrate & prepare multi sourced - complex data efficiently 

• ​Build scalable, re-usable Data models which can be used by multiple projects 

• ​Automate tools/ data flow using best practices in collaboration with internal teams, IM architects and IM consultants 

​ ​Improve and maintain existing solutions: 

• ​Suggest technical improvements / automation ideas for existing Data solutions 

• ​Perform required changes and regular data load activities 

• ​Test and ensure compatibility of existing solutions upon new software version release 

• ​Improve and safeguard Data solution – System performance (latency, downtime) 

• ​Educate and train a variety of stakeholders about the dashboard technicalities & features 

• ​Work with data governance team and implement data quality checks and maintain data catalogs 

• ​Keep detailed technical documentation complete and up to date​​ 

• Strong Analytics & data visualization

• Ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries. 

• Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources. 

• Results-driven and ability to handle multiple projects. 

• Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data. 

•  Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities. 

• Understands sensitivity and security questions around data. 

•  Able to act in a complex multinational environment. 

• Good communication and presentation skills. 

•  Strong interpersonal and time-management skill 

Preferred skills 

• Skills with data visualization tools like Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau
• Knowledge of SAP systems – SD, MM modules

Good to have skills 

• Skills in Azure - Databricks, R, Python, different types of data engineering tools
• Potential to learn/ pickup Data engineering in future
