Introduction to role


This Analyst role provides analytical expertise to the Commercial Organization, driving strategic and operational excellence. Acting as a proactive internal consultant to a specific brand team, the Brand Analytics Analyst designs and delivers commercial solutions that enable data-driven decisions based on rigorous analysis and the best available information. The role is hands-on, with a high level of proficiency in syndicated and custom, primary and secondary data, where both predictive and prescriptive analytics are a strong advantage. The Brand Analytics Analyst coordinates the procurement of diverse datasets and designs and implements analytical solutions to support Business Opportunities, HCP and Patient Opportunity Identification, and Return-On-Investment analytics across Sales and Marketing channels. The work also spans Patient and Prospective Analytics, Smart Business Experiments (Test & Learn), Market Simulation and Patient Flow Modelling, as well as population-based studies such as epidemiological incidence and prevalence analyses. Close collaboration with Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Sales, Forecasting and other Commercial Operations partners is central to the role. Alongside strong technical skills, success depends on clear communication, effective business partnership that delivers material impact and influence, and a demonstrated ability to independently develop analysis methodologies and solve complex data problems with minimal oversight.


Accountabilities


Provide end-to-end analytical support to brand teams, from problem framing through data acquisition, modelling, interpretation and recommendation.  
Continuously evaluate and adopt new quantitative analysis methods, tools and technologies that enhance commercial decision-making.  
Develop a deep understanding of internal stakeholders’ data and analytical needs, with particular focus on customer-facing model leadership.  
Champion the use of local customer insight in overall planning and resourcing decisions across the business.  
Identify, prioritize and shape enhancements and new analytic capabilities, leading their development, deployment and embedding across the organization.  
Instil a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, testing and learning in how analytics is used to drive performance.  
Develop innovative analytical practices that create and sustain competitive advantage in the marketplace.  
Access and integrate information from multiple tools and sources, including large-scale syndicated, claims, EMR and digital datasets.  
Transform raw metrics into compelling data stories, summarizing complex findings into clear, actionable insights for senior partners.  
Apply deeper technical skills across the functional area, including deep knowledge of key datasets, modelling approaches and advanced methods.  
Demonstrate strong awareness of how analytics integrates with the work of colleagues in Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Sales and Forecasting.  
Monitor the external environment to stay current on leading analytic capabilities within and beyond pharma, translating them into practical applications.  


Essential Skills/Experience:


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in one of the following or related fields: Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science or Data Science.  
2+ years of working experience and knowledge in syndicated secondary data (IQVIA NPA, Xponent, eLAAD), Claims/EMR/registry data, and digital/CRM/field activity data, as these will ultimately be essential tools in the toolkit for this role.  
4+ years of experience in application of advanced methods and statistical procedures on large and disparate datasets, specifically:  
Data Mining, Predictive Modelling & Machine Learning algorithms; Optimization & Simulation; Design of Experiments, Time Series, Regression, Applied Econometrics and Bayesian methods.  
2+ years of recent experience and proficiency with MS Office, SQL, Python and big data technology – AWS or Hadoop or Snowflake  
Working knowledge in applied statistics (e.g., regression, uplift, time series); Expertise in managing and analyzing a range of large, secondary transactional databases is required.  
Working knowledge in any of the data visualization or BI tools such as Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlikview, D3js or similar tools  
Exposure to Databricks and AI implementation is required. Experience with GenAI applications is preferred. We seek someone familiar with AI-assisted analysis like code generation guided by user input. The candidate should also have experience with automated executive summaries and responsibly evaluating outputs using human-in-the-loop quality assurance.  
Experience with IQVIA and specialty pharmacy data sets; Proficiency in manipulating and extracting insights from large longitudinal data sources, such as Claims, EMR and other patient level data sets; Ability to derive, summarize and communicate insights from analyses.  
Organization and time management skills; Strong communication and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to develop and effectively present analyses infused with insight and business implications/actions.  
Strategic and critical thinking with the ability to engage, build and maintain credibility with Commercial Leadership Team; Should have an excellent analytical, problem-solving ability; Should be a quick learner and should be able to generate insights for business.  


Desirable Skills/Experience:


Experience with US pharmaceutical companies, particularly in Immunology analytics and business rules, is essential. It involves operationalizing clear business rules and aligning benchmark definitions across assets and indications.  
Good knowledge of US market access, Market research, Payer Analytics or Augmentation.  
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a significant number of business leaders and cross-functional business partners.  
An advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred (Master’s, MBA or PhD).
