Join our growing team at My PEVO, where we provide exceptional permit and pilot car services for oversized and overweight loads across the U.S. We're looking for a driven and detail-oriented Permit Specialist to support and grow our operations.
✅ Permit Management
- Apply for oversize/overweight permits via phone, email, fax, and online systems
- Ensure all permits comply with applicable state and local DOT regulations
- Verify routing for safety, legality, and operational efficiency
✅ Customer & DOT Coordination
- Communicate with state and local DOT offices to secure accurate, timely permits
- Work directly with clients to confirm routing details and resolve permit-related issues
- Provide necessary documentation, such as insurance certificates and hauler forms, to avoid delays
✅ Logistics Support
- Coordinate pilot car support requirements with the dispatch team
- Track and analyze permit costs to help maintain profitability
- Support the team with route planning, estimate preparation, and client inquiries
✅ Growth & Development
- Maintain detailed, organized records of permits, customer communication, and documentation
- Learn the permitting process under the guidance of our senior specialist, with the goal of taking on more responsibility
- Assist in building internal systems and workflows for the permit division
- Participate in business development by promoting permit and pilot car services to clients
🔍 Additional Responsibilities
- Stay updated on state and federal DOT regulation changes
- Monitor permit timelines, rejections, and approval trends to identify bottlenecks
- Help document internal procedures and develop SOPs for future onboarding
- Proactively improve workflows to reduce errors and increase processing speed
- Collaborate across teams (dispatch, customer service, operations) to prioritize urgent loads
- Build and maintain relationships with DOT officials for better reliability and turnaround
- Represent MyPEVO professionally in all communications with clients and external partners
Skills
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in oversize/overweight permit processing is not required but highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and stay organized
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (all systems, documentation, and client interaction are in English)
- Tech-savvy: Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail), CRM tools, and ideally logistics/permit software
- Customer-focused with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
- Self-motivated with a desire to grow into a leadership or training role
- Eager to develop a long-term career while helping scale the permit division
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Bonus: Experience in trucking, logistics, or regulatory coordination
