Business Developer – Data Centre & Critical Infrastructure

We are looking for an experienced Business Developer to drive strategic growth across the UK & Nordics Data Centre market, positioning our organisation as a long-term partner of choice within this fast‑growing, mission‑critical sector.
This is a high-impact, senior business development role with full ownership of market strategy, early-stage project positioning, and long-term revenue growth across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise and edge Data Centre projects.
The Opportunity
Operating in a highly technical, specification-led environment, you will engage early with key stakeholders across the entire Data Centre ecosystem — from owners and developers through to consultants, EPCs and general contractors. You’ll influence technical specifications, build strategic partnerships, and secure preferred positioning on complex, high-value infrastructure projects.
This role blends strategic thinking, technical credibility and commercial execution, offering significant autonomy and visibility within a growth-focused organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for Data Centre & Critical Infrastructure across the UK & Nordics
Drive market penetration and unlock new revenue streams across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise and edge segments
Build and maintain senior relationships with:
Owners & Developers
Engineering Consultants / Specifiers
EPCs, Design & Build firms and General Contractors
Engage early in the project lifecycle to influence specifications and technical positioning
Partner closely with Application Engineering teams to shape tailored solutions
Own and develop a robust opportunity pipeline, ensuring disciplined CRM management and accurate forecasting
Lead commercial negotiations and bid processes for complex, mission‑critical tenders
Identify and develop strategic partnerships, alliances and joint venture opportunities
Represent the business at industry events and within the broader Data Centre ecosystem
What We’re Looking For
7–10+ years’ experience in Business Development within Data Centres, Critical Infrastructure or related technical sectors (e.g. power, cooling, electrical or building technologies)
Strong understanding of the Data Centre project lifecycle and specification-driven sales environments
Proven experience working with Owners, Consultants, EPCs and Contractors
Ability to operate confidently in technically complex, multi-stakeholder projects
Excellent commercial, negotiation and influencing skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or similar (Engineering background highly valued)
Comfortable with up to 75% travel
