Job Brief:
Our client in the valves industry is seeking a Valve Technician to support valve maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities at workshop facilities and customer plant locations.
The role involves performing inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of various types of valves and pneumatic actuators, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The technician will work closely with supervisors, QA/QC teams, and job coordinators to ensure all work is completed according to technical specifications, operational procedures, and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Repair various types of valves, including relief valves, control valves, on/off valves, and pneumatic actuators at the workshop facility or at customer plant locations.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, inspection, and testing of valves at assigned job sites.
  • Carry out and assist with pre-testing, disassembly, cleaning, in-process inspection, machining, lapping, painting, assembly, testing, and final inspection on different types of valves and actuation equipment.
  • Conduct valve testing using certified test equipment and complete all required documentation while working under a QA/QC/National Board VR program.
  • Complete field service worksheets and submit them to the job coordinator upon completion of assigned work.
  • Refer to the appropriate valve manuals and technical data sheets when performing valve maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors regarding valve conditions, instrumentation equipment issues, and customer requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain all site-specific safety training and certifications required to perform valve repair services at customer facilities.
  • Maintain driver eligibility and perform regular preventive maintenance on company-owned equipment when required.
  • Perform additional job duties as directed by management when necessary.


Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in Valve MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) activities.
  • High School Certificate or Diploma qualification.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in reading blueprints and technical diagrams related to valve systems and equipment.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of rigging, lifting, and moving heavy equipment or products.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and clean operating environments.
  • Strong understanding of valve servicing procedures and documentation practices.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, and regulatory guidelines.
