Upholstery Production Supervisor

Position Overview: As a Floor Supervisor/Foreman for Furniture and Upholstery, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the furniture and upholstery production floor. Your primary role is to ensure the smooth and efficient workflow, quality output, and adherence to safety guidelines. You will lead a team of skilled workers, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.

• Supervise and lead a team of furniture and upholstery workers. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance to ensure the team's productivity and efficiency.
  
• Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery timelines. Ensure that all projects are completed within the specified time frame while maintaining high-quality standards.
  
• Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that finished furniture and upholstery products meet or exceed company standards and customer expectations.
  
• Identify training needs within the team and provide necessary coaching and support to enhance their skills and knowledge. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  
• Oversee the procurement and management of raw materials, ensuring an adequate supply of materials for ongoing production.
  
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all machinery and equipment is in good working condition. Arrange for repairs or replacements when necessary.
  
• Ensure all safety regulations and protocols are followed by the team at all times to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
  
• Address any production-related issues, conflicts, or challenges that may arise promptly and effectively. Implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the production manager, other supervisors, and the team to relay information, changes, and updates.
  
• Identify areas of inefficiency in production processes and suggest and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  

• Proven experience as a supervisor or foreman in the furniture and upholstery industry.
  
• In-depth knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, upholstery techniques, and materials.
  
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  
• Quality-conscious and detail-oriented mindset.
  
• Familiarity with safety regulations and the ability to enforce them within the team.
  
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
