We are working with a Western Design & Engineering Consultancy, based in Dubai who are looking to hire a Temporary Works Design Engineer.
They have offices in Dubai, KSA and the United Kingdom. Due to continued growth and securing new projects, they are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Engineer with extensive Design exp, with BS 5975 codes of practice.
The role - Assume the role of Temporary Works Coordinator as per BS5975 requirements in the Middle East.
- Develop and manage temporary works registers across multiple building projects.
- Develop technical schemes and design briefs for a wide range of temporary works items including cranes, hoists, slab loading, formwork, scaffold etc.
- Coordinate design submission with our temporary works designers and review the design for alignment with the design brief.
- Complete on-site inspections of temporary works.
- Collate all information and issue Permits to Load for a range of temporary works items.
- Visit site regularly, hold meetings with the site teams to understand upcoming temporary works requirements to commence planning and design activities.
Skills / Qualifications
- BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in temporary works coordination or supervision on buildings projects (high-rise, malls, hotels etc.)
- Working knowledge of BS 5975.
- Be comfortable visiting construction sites regularly (position is part-time office and part-time site)
- Sound health and safety knowledge relating to site and design activities.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with site and design team.
- Good time management and understanding of project budget and deliverables.
Package
Salary range for the role is circa 25-30,000 AED per month + flight and medical.
