About the job TELECOM ENGINEER
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telecom Engineer with 8-15 years of expertise to join our team for a major offshore oil and gas project in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in the design and engineering of offshore telecommunication systems and multidisciplinary coordination during the FEED and EPC phases of the project lifecycle.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute telecommunication engineering activities for offshore facilities, including wellhead platforms, process platforms, central processing facilities, and associated offshore installations.
- Develop and review telecom engineering deliverables including design basis documents, system philosophies, specifications, data sheets, block diagrams, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and material requisitions.
- Design and engineer offshore telecommunication systems including Fiber Optic Networks, Structured Cabling Systems, Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA), CCTV, Access Control Systems (ACS), Telephone Systems, VHF/UHF Radio Systems, Microwave Systems, LAN/WAN networks, and Integrated Communication Systems.
- Interface with ICSS, DCS, and other control and automation systems to ensure seamless integration of telecommunication systems.
- Coordinate with process, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and structural disciplines to ensure effective implementation and integration of telecom systems.
- Review vendor documentation and ensure package equipment communication and interface requirements are incorporated into project designs.
- Participate in design reviews, model reviews, constructability assessments, and technical meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
- Ensure all telecom engineering activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and offshore industry best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and designers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support engineering activities throughout the FEED and EPC phases of the project.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8-15 years of experience as a Telecom Engineer in offshore oil and gas projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in offshore facilities including platforms, topsides, and brownfield modification projects.
- Mandatory experience in both FEED and EPC phases of offshore oil and gas projects.
- Strong experience in industrial telecommunication systems supporting offshore automation and control environments.
- Hands-on experience with Fiber Optic Systems, PAGA, CCTV, Access Control Systems, VHF/UHF Radio Systems, Microwave Communication Systems, LAN/WAN Networks, and Integrated Communication Systems.
- Experience interfacing telecom systems with ICSS and DCS platforms.
- Familiarity with international standards and offshore engineering practices applicable to telecommunication systems.
- Strong communication, coordination, and multidisciplinary interface management skills.
- Experience in engineering consultancy or EPC organizations supporting offshore projects is preferred.
- Must be available to work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
