The Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Technician provides technical support for the department’s laboratories, CNC workshop, workshop machining (lathe, milling, drilling, grinding, welding). CAD facilities major mechanical and aerospace equipment. The role includes operating and maintaining CNC and conventional machining equipment, supporting laboratory experiments, assisting faculty and students with fabrication and research activities, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of laboratory and workshop facilities. The technician will also support CAD/CAE/Workshop laboratories by maintaining computer workstations and engineering software, preparing laboratory setups for teaching and research, maintaining major equipment, and ensuring compliance with laboratory safety standards and university regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, experience with CNC programming (G-code), knowledge of metrology and measurement tools, familiarity with CAD/CAE/workshop software and manufacturing processes, and the ability to support both undergraduate and postgraduate laboratories while working effectively in a team environment.


Minimum Qualifications:


Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.


Preferred Qualifications:


• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in CNC machining and mechanical laboratories. • Experience working in academic or research environments is preferred.
