The Senior Specialist – Design & Development will play a critical role in the design, development, testing, implementation, and enhancement of the Bank’s applications, related technology stacks, and other systems within a DevSecOps-based software delivery pipeline.
This role involves analysing technical and functional designs, as well as designing and developing web application workflows, integrations, and APIs.
The Specialist will ensure the continuous improvement of application platforms and related solutions to meet the Central Bank’s objectives, collaborating with stakeholders to optimise message processing, system interoperability, and compliance with industry standards.
The role also includes driving modern software development practices, fostering innovation, ensuring high code quality, promoting collaboration through Agile methodologies, providing effective support and issue resolution, and continuously improving team performance while aligning technical decisions with the Central Bank’s overall objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or related fields.
Professional certification or relevant courses/trainings (e.
g. Core Java, Struts, Spring Boot, Agile/Scrum, AI/ML) would be an advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the development and maintenance of solutions using Core Java, Struts, Spring Boot, and relational MySQL databases .
Proven track record in enhancing and maintaining enterprise-level platforms or modules .
Technical Skills: Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages commonly used in microservices development, with experience in back-end frameworks (e.
g., Java, Struts, Spring Boot, jQuery).
In-depth understanding of microservices architecture, modular architecture, cloud-native development, cloud platforms and services, containerisation and orchestration, and API design and management.
Extensive knowledge of relational database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Redis.
Proficiency in source code version control and collaboration tools such as Bitbucket and JIRA.
Strong analytical skills, with experience in conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting complex issues.
Knowledge of data investigation and incident resolution processes.
Development Skills: Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
Expertise in development environments, including IDEs, version control, unit testing, design, and documentation.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes.
