The Senior Steel Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergencymaintenance on mechanical systems and equipment in the steel production facility. This role ensures thereliability, efficiency, and safety of mechanical components, minimizing production downtime and optimizingequipment performance.
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on steel production machinery, including rolling mills, conveyors,furnaces, and hydraulic systems.
Identify and resolve mechanical failures, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
Follow maintenance schedules to prevent equipment breakdowns and improve operational efficiency.
Inspect, service, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in steel production processes.
Adhere to workplace safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, PPE usage, and riskassessments.
Quickly respond to mechanical failures to minimize production disruptions and ensure plant uptime.
Work closely with operations and engineering teams to support process improvements and machine upgrades.
Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of spare parts to support maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and work orders in CMMS.
Participate in skills enhancement programs and contribute to process improvements in the plant.
Strong understanding of industrial mechanical components, including gears, bearings, pumps, and hydraulicsystems.
Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
Knowledge of industrial safety practices, risk assessments, and compliance with maintenance regulations.
Ability to work effectively within a maintenance team and collaborate across departments.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 1 year working experience/relevant experience, GCC experience is a plus
