JOB PURPOSE
We're seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer to be deployed with our airline client, a major international airline headquartered in Dubai, as part of their IT Systems & Core team. This role is central to ensuring the quality, reliability, and accuracy of airline-critical systems spanning inventory, pricing, booking, and payment platforms. The successful candidate will bring deep domain knowledge of airline IT environments combined with strong manual testing capabilities, API testing proficiency, and exposure to test automation frameworks. They will serve as a quality assurance anchor across cross-functional delivery teams operating in a fast-paced, high-stakes production environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for airline-domain applications covering functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing scenarios.
Lead and perform manual testing across airline inventory, pricing, booking, and payment workflows — ensuring coverage of complex business rules and edge cases specific to the aviation domain.
Conduct thorough API testing using Postman or equivalent tools to validate service contracts, data integrity, and inter-system communication across the platform.
Perform database validation and query-level testing on MongoDB and Oracle environments to verify data accuracy, consistency, and correctness across transactions.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or similar UI automation frameworks; contribute to API automation coverage using Rest Assured or equivalent tools where applicable.
Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to review requirements, identify testability gaps, and embed quality early in the delivery lifecycle.
Identify, document, and manage defects with clear reproducibility steps; track resolution through the full bug lifecycle and validate fixes against original test criteria.
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test tooling, and documentation standards within the team.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5+ years in IT; minimum 3+ years in a QA capacity within the airline domain.
- Airline Domain Deep, working knowledge of airline inventory, pricing, booking, and payment systems. Experience with PSS/DCS platforms is highly advantageous.
- Manual Testing Strong proficiency in functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing. Able to author detailed test plans and cases independently.
- API Testing Proficient in API testing using Postman or comparable tools. - -- Able to validate REST endpoints, manage environments, and interpret response data.
- Database Testing Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Oracle — query writing, data verification, and identifying data-layer defects.
- Test Automation Exposure to UI automation using Selenium or equivalent frameworks; API automation using Rest Assured or similar. Candidates with strong automation depth will be preferred.
