Job description

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLE
To provide specialised technical expertise to the airline for its Continued Airworthiness and Engineering Services activities on Aircrafts and Powerplants (Engines and APU) and coordinates and manages engine-related services to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts Continued Airworthiness and Engineering functions including health and performance monitoring of the Powerplants.
  • Leads the airline's collaboration with relevant Powerplant Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) for defect analysis to drive product reliability and performance improvements.
  • Oversees and manages deliverables as required by engine services agreements with external service providers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, quality standards, and turnaround times.
  • Conducts assessment and provides recommendation for Continued Airworthiness including implementation of Powerplants campaign programs.
  • Represents the airline during fleet Technical Review Meetings, Working Together Team and conferences.
  • Evaluates in-service issues surrounding the Powerplants and provides commercially viable technical solutions in accordance with flydubai's reliability program management team.
  • Develops and enhances the engine maintenance program and internal procedures based from the company's policy, existing agreements and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering and maintenance teams, assisting in troubleshooting complex engine-related issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Identifies operational risks arising from technical issues and devise mitigating actions to reduce the risks to an acceptable degree using risk analysis and management of change method.
  • Ensures that the Powerplant's engine removal planning is designed to optimize the time on-wing in respect to the maintenance and leasing agreements.
  • Reviews and approves workscopes necessary to induct engines into Maintenance Repair Organisations including the ad-hoc parts replacements, repair deviations and concessions.
  • Carries out review and preliminary approval of shop visit invoices ensuring its accuracy in line with the intended workscope and scrappages.
  • Liaises with aircraft and engine owners for the necessary transactions needed during the lease period and life cycle of the Powerplants including technical acceptance or redelivery of an asset.
  • Recognizes opportunities to reduce the life-cycle cost of engines and introduces cost saving measures through establishing new procedures, policies and maintenance philosophies.
  • Serves as a focal point for flydubai's Powerplant team in its day-to-day technical activities and decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or ICAO Type 2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License
  • Fluent in English
  • At least 7 years’ experience in commercial aviation engineering specializing in engines and APU and at least 5 years of experience in CFM56-7B/LEAP-1B/GENX-1B engines operations in Hot and Harsh Environment.
  • Use of IT systems including OEM tools for engine health diagnostics is a must. flydubai uses AMOS as its CAMO software, knowledge of the environment is an advantage.
