About the job Senior Oracle PL/SQL &amp - Data Warehouse Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Database Design & Development


Design, develop, and maintain robust database solutions using Oracle and advanced PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.


Build and optimise complex SQL queries to support high-volume data processing and analytical requirements.


Develop and manage data models and schema designs that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise data standards.


Apply bulk data processing techniques using advanced PL/SQL methodologies to ensure efficient handling of large datasets.


Perform continuous performance tuning of SQL queries and data flows to meet operational SLAs and system performance benchmarks.


2. Data Warehousing & Integration


Architect and implement data integration and data warehouse solutions that consolidate disparate data sources into unified, reliable data environments.


Gather, analyse, and translate business and technical data integration requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions.


Perform end-to-end data transformation and data analysis across complex and heterogeneous data sources.


Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy throughout all stages of the data pipeline and warehouse lifecycle.


Work with cloud-based data platforms including Amazon Redshift and AWS Cloud services where applicable to extend warehouse capabilities.


3. Reporting & Data Insights


Design and build reporting solutions using business intelligence platforms including MicroStrategy, Crystal Reports, and SSRS.


Generate actionable data insights and structured reports to support business decision-making across various operational domains.


Translate complex datasets into clear, structured outputs that meet the needs of both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Maintain and enhance existing report libraries, ensuring accuracy, performance, and alignment with evolving business requirements.


4. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement


Collaborate closely with technology and business teams across project workstreams to deliver shared objectives within agreed timelines.


Participate in requirements-gathering sessions, technical design discussions, and solution reviews with cross-functional stakeholders.


Proactively identify and resolve data-related issues, applying structured problem-solving approaches to minimise impact on project delivery.


Contribute to documentation of technical designs, data flows, and solution architectures to ensure knowledge continuity and auditability.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE


- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


- 5 to 7 years of hands-on professional experience in Oracle PL/SQL development and data warehouse engineering.


- Advanced SQL and PL/SQL knowledge with a demonstrated ability to write, optimise, and debug complex queries and stored procedures.


- Strong experience in bulk data processing using advanced SQL and PL/SQL techniques in high-volume enterprise environments.


- Solid proficiency in data modeling, schema design, and query optimisation for both OLTP and OLAP systems.


- Hands-on experience working with Oracle Database in production-grade enterprise settings.


- Proven expertise in gathering and analysing data integration requirements and delivering scalable, reliable solutions.


- Ability to build structured reports and generate data-driven insights using BI and reporting tools.


- Strong aptitude for identifying, diagnosing, and resolving data quality and data pipeline issues efficiently.


- Demonstrated track record of performance tuning across data flows, ETL processes, and SQL query execution.


- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience working in cross-functional, collaborative team environments.


- Aviation or airline domain experience is strongly preferred.


- Experience with Amazon Redshift, Hadoop, Hive, and Apache Spark frameworks is a significant advantage.


- Familiarity with AWS Cloud services and cloud-first data architecture patterns is preferred.


WHAT WE OFFER


Salary: AED 10,000 – 13,000 per month (based on experience and skill fit)
