Job description

Role: Senior Manager


Role Profile:


Manage and reduce H&S risk within the retail business through taking geographical responsibility for the implementation of strategic initiatives and delivery of operational outputs as dictated by the H&S Annual Plan.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Undertake detailed and professional investigations identifying root cause analysis, remedial actions and role / individual specific action plans to ensure remedial action recommendations are addressed in full.   
  • Produce detailed accident investigation reports to a high standard of quality and content within agreed timescales using company approved templates and documentation. 



  • Conduct H&S Reviews and Fire Risk Assessments for all Stores, Head Office and Distribution Centre as dictated by the H&S Annual Plan. 



  • Conduct H&S Reviews / Fire Risk Assessments to a high standard and quality using company approved templates and documentation. 



  • Conduct all operational outputs in full compliance with the Annual Plan.  



  • Assist in the development of company training modules. 



  • Deliver Company training modules as defined within the H&S Annual Plan.  



  • Conduct all training / awareness training modules to a high standard at all times. 



  • Assist in the implementation of H&S system developments.  



  • Contribute to the development of the companies H&S arrangements through the delivery of any project identified as a key objective. 



  • Contribute to the development of the company H&S Management System. 



Skills & Experience:


  • Min 2 yearsâ experience of H&S within a retail / multi-site environment  
  • Track record of policy / business systems development
  • Experienced H&S Trainer 
  • IT literate 
  • High level of English & numerically 
  • Investigatory skills 
  • Business reporting skills essential 
  • MS PowerPoint  
  • IT literate skills 
  • Numerical skills 
  • Analytical skills 
  • Advanced Investigatory skills 
  • Advanced Questioning skills 
  • Business Reporting skills 
  • Leadership skills

Knowledge:


  • NEBOSH General Certificate  
  • Preferable to hold HSE Dip / NVQ (or working towards) or other H&S specific qualifications including  
  • Fire Safety 
  • Construction Safety 
  • Food Safety 
  • Business Auditing
