About the job SENIOR ENGINEER - PROCESS

We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our EPC engineering team supporting major onshore oil & gas developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for process design, engineering calculations, technical studies, and the preparation and review of process engineering deliverables across FEED and Detailed Engineering phases, ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and international standards.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and execute process engineering activities for onshore oil & gas facilities from FEED through Detailed Engineering.
  • Prepare, review, and approve key process engineering deliverables including: Process Design Basis, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Heat & Material Balances, Equipment Datasheets, Utility Consumption Calculations, Process Design Calculations, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Operating Philosophies, Process Narratives
  • Perform process simulations and modelling using industry-standard software such as Aspen HYSYS.
  • Conduct hydraulic calculations for pipelines, control valves, relief valves, flare systems, and utility networks.
  • Size and specify process equipment including separators, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, filters, tanks, and packaged units.
  • Perform relief and flare system design and verification in accordance with applicable standards and client requirements.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, Design Reviews, Constructability Reviews, and Risk Assessment workshops.
  • Interface with Mechanical, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Operations disciplines to ensure integrated engineering solutions.
  • Review vendor documents and technical bid evaluations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing technical offers, vendor packages, and equipment documentation.
  • Provide technical support during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Resolve technical queries, RFIs, and site engineering issues related to process design.
  • Ensure all process engineering activities comply with company procedures, project specifications, client standards, and applicable international codes.
  • Guide and mentor junior process engineers and review their engineering deliverables.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Master's Degree is considered an advantage.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas EPC projects.
  • Strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering phases of large-scale onshore oil & gas developments.
  • Proven experience working on oil gathering, gas processing, separation, compression, produced water treatment, utility systems, and associated facilities.
  • Previous Middle East project experience is mandatory.
  • Experience on ADNOC, Aramco, KOC, PDO, QatarEnergy, or similar major operator projects is highly desirable.
  • Experience in both greenfield and brownfield developments is preferred.
  • Software Skills- Aspen HYSYS, Microsoft Office Suite, Aspen Flare System Analyzer (AFSA), PIPEPHASE, Flarenet, HTRI, AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, SmartPlant Process Engineering (SPPID/SPPE)
  • Technical Knowledge of Process simulation and modelling, Heat and mass transfer principles, Equipment sizing and specification, Flare and relief system design, Hydraulic calculations and pipeline flow assurance, Utility system design, Process safety engineering fundamentals, Process control philosophy and operational considerations.
  • Working knowledge of Codes & Standards- API Standards, ASME Codes, ANSI Standards, ISO Standards, IEC Requirements (process interface), ADNOC Engineering Standards (or equivalent operator standards)
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Strong report writing and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to lead process engineering activities independently.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
