About Rule:
  • Review and verify static equipment corrosion rates and ensure that are maintained within acceptable limits and risk of failure is maintained with in ALARP level.
  • Identify and review existing and future damage mechanisms associated with corrosion loops and process streams.
  • Determine or estimate corrosion rates and remaining life
  • Determine and recommend corrosion mitigation plans which can include material changes, inspection frequencies, chemical injection options.
  • Ensures that all technical aspects related to corrosion & metallurgy control management assessment are undertaken in conformance with company standards and / or industry codes of practice.
  • Provide support in technical expertise in area of Metallurgy and corrosion to Inspection, Operations and Maintenance.
  • Conduct and/or participate in Failure Investigation, root cause analysis for corrosion and metallurgical cases and identify and assess the damage mechanism and corrosion loop.
  • Ensures satisfactory implementation and evaluation of all chemical treatment programs formulated for internal corrosion control.
  • Ensures updating the available data management systems with corrosion and metallurgy findings of each equipment/facility and major problem areas are accurately and timely logged and identified.
  • Manage the Cathodic Protection (CP) monitoring and troubleshooting activities and interfaces with 3rd party CP services contractor.
Qualification and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8 years of experience as Corrosion Engineer including at least 4 years in an oil and gas operating facility
