Job Description
  • Install, fabricate, assemble, and repair duct systems in oil and gas facilities.
  • Measure and cut ducts to the required size using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to install ductwork according to specifications.
  • Perform layout tasks and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets.
  • Assemble ducts by connecting the seams, joints, and other parts using appropriate sealing materials.
  • Inspect ductwork for any damages, leaks, or defects and perform necessary repairs.
  • Ensure proper insulation of duct systems to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, especially while working in confined spaces or high-pressure environments typical in oil and gas projects.
  • Collaborate with other trades and departments, such as HVAC technicians, welders, and engineers, to complete installations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical certification or diploma in duct installation, HVAC, or a related field is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in ductwork installation, with at least 2 years in the oil and gas industry.

Additional Information
  • Proven experience as a Ductman in the oil and gas sector.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Good understanding of ductwork installation and insulation techniques.
  • Knowledge of different types of ducts (e.g., sheet metal, fiberglass, flexible).
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and standards.
  • Physically fit to handle labor-intensive tasks.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Relevant certification in duct installation or HVAC is preferred.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations, including offshore or desert environments, as required.
  • Technical expertise in duct fabrication and installation.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
