Job Purpose

Formulate, implement and administer enterprise data management policies to ensure efficient utilization of resources and adequate protection of company's information assets. Evaluate, implement and customize backup solution/technologies and recovery solutions to meet business requirements.




Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

•    Define the scope and manage the execution of the data management project.
•    Handle project planning and resource allocation.
•    Monitor operation and optimize the process against SLA
•    Liaise with concerned parties to build, test, release, and deploy changes.
•    Understand business expectations and forecast future capacity requirements for the Section.
•    Analyse business processes and determine how Information analysis and KPI can change or better support management decision making.
•    Identify patterns and helping the business react to changing business conditions.
•    Ensure that the system fulfils the business requirements of the project.
•    Evaluate, implement and customizes backup solution/technologies including hardware and software procurement. Evaluate backup solution/technologies (hardware and software).
•    Implement and customize backup and recovery operations to meet business requirements.
•    Review and update policies, procedures, standards and operation guidelines for data management. 
•    Plan for storage capacity and growth forecasting, carries out related performance analysis and troubleshooting.
•    Establish and renew maintenance and support agreements for hardware and software related to data management. 
•    Simplify servers, databases and data recovery to meet Service Level Agreements on production environments.
•    Study and implement latest technologies/approaches for backup and recovery as applicable.
•    Evaluate, test and implement upgrades and update to the backup, archive and recovery system. 
•    Analyse business goals, user needs and process improvements into data management functions and requirements.
•    Evaluate, select and implements tools and packages (hardware and software) required for successful implementation of data management policies.
•    Formulate and implement enterprise-wide backup/archive policies to ensure proper protection against loss or destruction of company's data assets.
•    Formulate and maintain disaster/recovery plans to ensure continuity of company’s business in the event of computer systems being reduced or unavailable for an extended period due to a disaster or high impact incident.
•    Provide first line support ensuring services availability and users connectivity.
•    Conduct research for new relevant tools and technologies, recommending adoption where applicable.
•    Perform regular audits and verifications on backup, archive and recovery activities to ensure compliance with data management and other IT Division policies in force.
•    Liaise with application teams to ensure optimum placement and sizing of data assets for performance management. 
•    Liaise with vendors for product enquiries and resolution of all problems experienced with tools and packages.
•    Control and manage the project budget, schedule and resource.

•    Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
•    Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
•    Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
•    Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
•    Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Reports
•    Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
