The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for a Research Assistant to join a multidisciplinary project exploring the use of small airships as temporary 5G communication hubs for remote regions. The selected candidate will contribute to theoretical modeling, CFD simulations, and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) development, focusing on flight control, aerodynamic optimization, structural analysis, and 5G technology integration. The role will involve computational modeling (CFD, MATLAB/Simulink), control system development, hardware testing, and participation in flight test campaigns. Strong collaboration with the team in simulation and prototyping efforts is expected.
