About the role

Reporting into the Procurement Manager, the Regional Buyer will be accountable to plan and execute regional sourcing activities with the goal of achieving significant cost reductions, while maintaining & improving product quality and vendor service levels, across Raw Materials, Packaging and Indirect spend categories in the region for Kerry. The role will also require close collaboration and positive relationship building cross-functionally in Kerry to deliver key strategies for sustainable growth.



Key responsibilities
  • Procurement of Raw Material, Packaging and Indirect Services required by the Business on time, cost efficiently and meeting the Business needs.
  • Support the Supply Chain function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.
  • Close communication with Finance & relevant departments on up-to-date commodity pricing info
  • Negotiate contracts, improve pricing and terms of purchase with suppliers and review new opportunities to make business savings 
  • Commodity Price tracking and making strategic buying decisions based on factual market and economic data
  • Investigate, lead and deliver cost saving projects that deliver real value to the business and P&L
  • Track performance of SKU and Category spend in terms of PPV and consistently look for ways to reduce cost
  • Lead local vendor selection and negotiations for vendors
  • Leads search for new Vendors/Raw Materials required within the region
  • Consistently look for ways to improve and streamline processes in order to continuously improve and add value to the business
  • Lead and execute E-Tenders for Spend Categories in theregion
  • Collaborate with counterparts on APMEA Regional and Global team on tenders and projects where appropriate.
  • Leads Category Strategy development and execution for selected Raw Material, Packaging and IMAS categories
  • Provide local market intelligence including documented sourcing analyses, supply scenario comparisons and supplier research.
  • Analyse spend patterns across the region and provide constructive challenge to stakeholders on their spending decisions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in the region and globally to implement strategic category\u0002sourcing initiatives

Qualifications and skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university with minimum of 4 years of Regional Procurement
  • Specific experience in a Global, Manufacturing organization (Direct Procurement)
  • Experience working in FMCG Industry.
  • Have experience in running E-Tenders and in managing and forecasting commodity prices 
  • Should demonstrate a proven track record in risk management, strategic procurement, negotiation, and achievement of cost reductions
  • English Fluency Essential, Arabic is plus.
  • SAP knowledge is a plus.
