Job description

A Quantity Surveyor Engineer plays a crucial role in the construction and building industry, focusing on managing costs and ensuring the financial viability of projects. This position involves meticulous planning, budgeting, and monitoring of construction expenses to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards. The Quantity Surveyor Engineer collaborates with various stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and clients, to provide accurate estimates and ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings and specifications.
  2. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects and provide recommendations.
  3. Monitor project expenses and provide regular reports to management regarding budget status.
  4. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
  5. Manage and assess variations in project scope and costs, ensuring proper documentation.
  6. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  7. Prepare tender documents and assist in the bidding process.
  8. Advise on procurement strategies and methods to optimize project delivery.
  9. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  10. Provide support in dispute resolution and claims management as needed.
