Job Brief:
The Procurement Engineer will be a key contributor to the procurement operations, responsible for ensuring the efficient sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for water and wastewater treatment projects.
The role involves strategic procurement planning, supplier evaluation and management, bid analysis, contract negotiation, and supply chain coordination to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
The candidate will work closely with engineering, project, and finance teams to support smooth project execution and maintain an optimized procurement process aligned with organizational objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Planning
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with project requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand material and equipment specifications.
Supplier Identification & Management
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on capability, reliability, pricing, and quality standards.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions to secure cost-effective and favorable procurement agreements.
Material Sourcing
  • Source materials, equipment, and services in line with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with approved and reliable suppliers.
Bid Analysis & Contract Negotiation
  • Analyze supplier bids based on cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate contracts, ensuring commercial advantage and compliance with project needs.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure materials meet required technical and quality standards.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with industry regulations and internal policies.
Supply Chain Optimization
  • Implement strategies to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times.
  • Identify risks in the procurement process and proactively implement mitigation plans.
Cost Management
  • Monitor procurement expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Coordinate with finance teams to ensure alignment with approved budgets.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and supply chain tools.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor evaluation skills.
  • Good analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Adaptability to changing project and market conditions.
  • Commitment to quality, compliance, and procurement integrity.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and industry standards is preferred.
