About the job PIPING ENGINEER

The Piping Engineer will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating piping engineering deliverables during the Engineering phase of onshore oil and gas projects. The role requires strong experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design, ensuring design quality, constructability, and compliance with project and industry standards.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and review piping engineering deliverables including Piping Layouts, General Arrangement drawings, Isometrics, Tie-in schedules, and MTOs.
  • Perform piping design and stress analysis activities for onshore oil & gas facilities (process units, utilities, pipe racks, equipment piping, etc.).
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, project specifications, vendor data, and engineering inputs from other disciplines.
  • Ensure piping design aligns with process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation requirements.
  • Conduct 3D model review sessions (e.g., using AVEVA E3D, PDMS, SP3D) and provide design optimization recommendations.
  • Review piping stress reports, flexibility analyses, support designs, and ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
  • Support material selection, valve sizing, line designation tables, and preparation of piping specifications.
  • Coordinate with procurement and provide technical support during vendor document reviews.
  • Participate in design review meetings, HAZOP/HAZID sessions, and constructability reviews.
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards (ASME B31.3, API, ASTM, etc.) and company QA/QC procedures.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Piping, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 6-12 years of experience in piping engineering for onshore oil & gas projects.
  • Proven experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering / Detail Design phases.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and piping design tools (e.g., E3D, PDMS, SP3D).
  • Hands-on experience in piping stress analysis using CAESAR II or equivalent software.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, etc.).
  • Previous experience with EPC contractors or engineering consultancies is an advantage.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and technical reporting skills.
  • Only candidates currently in UAE and immediately available will be considered.
