Job Summary The Media Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic media engagement plans to enhance the organization’s public image, reputation, and visibility.
This role serves as the primary point of contact for journalists and media outlets, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely communication of key messages.
Key Responsibilities -Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies aligned with organizational goals -Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and international media representatives -Act as the main liaison between the organization and the media -Coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and interviews -Monitor media coverage and prepare regular reports and analysis -Manage crisis communications and respond to media inquiries promptly -Ensure message consistency across all media interactions -Identify proactive media opportunities to promote initiatives, campaigns, and leadership visibility -Publish the media content with the media outlets -Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, digital, policy, leadership) to align messaging -Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s preferred) -5–8 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or communications -Proven track record of securing media coverage and managing press relationships -Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities -Experience handling crisis communications and sensitive issues -Familiarity with media monitoring tools and analytics -Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
