Mechanical Technician

Established in 1992, Motherwell Bridge Industries specialises in on-site construction and maintenance of port-handling equipment; non-destructive testing inspections; technical training; and tooling. The chosen candidate will be expected to:

·        Main duties consist of mechanical fitting and installations in the assembly and erection of Container handling cranes such as RTG’s and ASC’s, such projects are undertaken in different countries around the world.

·        Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained according to international standards and high quality.

Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards.

Use hand tools like power tools and rigging equipment daily.

Work all shifts flexibly when job demands.

·        Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks and bobcats.

·        Be able to work at heights ranging from 30 to 35 metres above ground level.

·        Able to work in confined spaces.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

·        Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in the mechanical engineering industry, preferably in crane assembly and erection.

·        In possession of Mechanical Engineering certification and/ or diploma issued by reputable institution, such as City & Guilds or similar.

·        Good command of English both written and spoken

·        Possess a valid driving licence.
