The Infrastructure Engineer (Wet Utilities) is responsible for the planning, design review, coordination, and construction supervision of wet utility infrastructure systems including potable water, irrigation, sewerage, stormwater drainage, and recycled water networks. The role ensures compliance with client requirements, local authority standards, project specifications, and applicable engineering codes.
Responsibilities:
Design & Technical Review
- Prepare and review detailed designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications for wet utility infrastructure.
- Coordinate the design of water supply, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and treated sewage effluent (TSE) networks.
- Conduct hydraulic analysis and network modeling using industry-standard software.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Ensure designs comply with local authority standards and international engineering practices.
Construction Supervision
- Supervise site activities related to wet utility installations.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure works are executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and witness testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Identify and resolve technical issues arising during construction.
- Review contractor RFIs, NCRs, and construction methodologies.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including roads, utilities, structures, landscape, and MEP disciplines.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, utility authorities, and other external stakeholders.
- Attend technical meetings and provide engineering support throughout project delivery.
- Ensure timely approvals from relevant utility authorities and government agencies.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures and project quality standards.
- Support HSE initiatives and ensure utility works are executed safely.
- Monitor compliance with contractual requirements and project specifications.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and project reporting activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional Engineer certification or membership of a recognized engineering institution is preferred.
- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage (for site-based roles).
- 5-10+ years of experience in infrastructure projects with a focus on wet utilities.
- Experience in design consultancy, construction supervision, or PMC environments.
- Proven experience on large-scale urban development, municipal infrastructure, road, or master planning projects.
- Experience working with utility authorities and approval processes.
