The Hydraulic Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting hydraulic systems used in chassis manufacturing processes and applications for commercial trucks. This includes equipment such as hydraulic presses, fixtures, lifting systems, and vehicle-integrated hydraulic functions. The role ensures reliable, efficient, and safe hydraulic system performance aligned with production and engineering requirements.
Design and develop hydraulic systems for chassis manufacturing equipment and applications
Create hydraulic schematics, circuit diagrams, and system layouts
Select components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, and actuators
Perform calculations for pressure, flow, load, and system performance
Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems on the shop floor
Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and design teams for system integration
Improve existing hydraulic systems for efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
Work with vendors and suppliers for component sourcing and development
Prepare technical documentation, manuals, and reports
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and fluid power principles
Experience with manufacturing equipment and industrial hydraulics
Proficiency in CAD tools and hydraulic design software
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Understanding of safety standards and industrial regulations
Good communication and teamwork skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3–8 years of experience in hydraulic design, preferably in manufacturing or automotive
Experience with chassis manufacturing processes is an advantage
