About the job HVAC DESIGNER

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Designer to join our engineering team for oil & gas projects in the FEED and Detail Design phases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ADNOC onshore projects, focusing on the design, analysis, and coordination of HVAC systems for industrial facilities, buildings, substations, control rooms, and process areas.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Prepare HVAC design and engineering deliverables for oil & gas, industrial, commercial, and infrastructure projects during FEED and Detail Design phases.
  • Develop HVAC system designs including ventilation, air conditioning, pressurization, smoke management, and exhaust systems for buildings and process facilities.
  • Perform HVAC design calculations such as cooling and heating load calculations, ventilation requirements, duct sizing, pressure loss calculations, equipment selection, and noise analysis.
  • Prepare and review HVAC layouts, duct routing drawings, equipment schedules, airflow diagrams, and HVAC specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC engineering standards, project specifications, and international codes and standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and ISO.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary teams including process, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation, and architectural disciplines to ensure HVAC system integration.
  • Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, equipment datasheets, and material specifications for HVAC equipment packages.
  • Support FEED studies and Detail Design activities, including HVAC equipment selection, ventilation studies, equipment room layouts, and energy-efficient system design.
  • Participate in technical reviews, HAZOP sessions, constructability reviews, and client meetings as required.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, installation, commissioning, and project execution phases.
  • Prepare material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and respond to engineering queries related to HVAC systems.

Key Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in HVAC design for oil & gas, industrial, or infrastructure projects, with proven ADNOC onshore experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC design principles, ventilation systems, air conditioning systems, pressurization systems, smoke control systems, and industrial HVAC applications.
  • Experience with FEED and Detail Design documentation, HVAC equipment layouts, 3D model reviews, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Hands-on experience with Air Handling Units (AHU), Fresh Air Handling Units (FAHU), Chillers, Package Units, Split Units, Precision Air Conditioning Units (PAC), Exhaust Systems, Pressurization Systems, and Ventilation Systems.
  • Familiarity with HVAC design standards and codes including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, ISO, and ADNOC specifications.
  • Proficient in engineering software such as HAP, Elite Software, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, SmartPlant, or equivalent.
  • Experience in HVAC load calculations, duct design, equipment sizing, airflow analysis, and energy-efficient system design.
  • Knowledge of HVAC material selection, insulation requirements, equipment specifications, and HVAC control philosophies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
