The Head of In-Process Chassis Manufacturing is responsible for leading and optimizing all chassis production activities within the manufacturing process. This role ensures efficient operations, high-quality output, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards while driving continuous improvement across welding, assembly, and fabrication processes. The position works closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams to deliver production targets and operational excellence.
Lead and manage all in-process chassis manufacturing operations including welding, fabrication, and assembly
Drive production planning and execution to meet volume, cost, and quality targets
Ensure adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies
Implement and monitor lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with engineering teams to support product design improvements and manufacturability
Oversee quality control processes and resolve production issues to minimize defects and rework
Manage and develop production teams including supervisors, engineers, and operators
Optimize resource utilization including manpower, equipment, and materials
Monitor key performance indicators and drive corrective actions where needed
Ensure effective maintenance and uptime of production equipment
Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components
Strong leadership and team management skills
Deep understanding of chassis manufacturing processes including welding and assembly
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage large-scale production operations under pressure
Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
Ten or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing
At least five years in a leadership or managerial role
Hands-on experience in chassis manufacturing or body-in-white processes
