Conduct comprehensive gait assessments and analyze biomechanical data for patients referred with gait disorders, including:
Cerebral palsy
Spina bifida
Neuromuscular disorders
Orthopaedic conditions
Trauma-related gait abnormalities
Perform advanced therapy evaluations using 3D Motion Capture systems and related technologies.
Carry out complex technical procedures, including:
Detailed history taking
Physical examination
Accurate placement of surface markers
Demonstrate excellent understanding of anatomy, kinematics, bony anatomy, and joint motion.
Identify and manage sources of error in gait analysis through strong biomechanical knowledge.
Develop expertise in biomechanical data analysis and reporting software.
Produce high-quality, comprehensive gait analysis reports with clear clinical recommendations.
Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, physicians, and surgeons, to review findings and guide treatment planning.
Conduct and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss results, interpretations, and recommendations.
Manage clinical risk within own caseload and ensure patient safety at all times.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of scope of practice, documentation standards, and compliant clinical practices, including coding and billing where applicable.
Engage in continuous professional development, ongoing education, and potential research activities to support service advancement.
Required/Preferred
Background as a Gait Lab Engineer, Motion Analysis Therapist, or Lab Specialist.
Strong expertise in biomechanics, anatomy, and kinematic analysis.
Experience working with 3D gait analysis and motion capture systems.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
