Job Description – Fire Alarm Technician cum Driver – Abu Dhabi



NAFFCO Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician cum Driver to join our operations team. This role combines hands-on installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning of fire alarm systems with driving duties to transport technicians, tools, and equipment to project and service sites. The successful candidate will ensure systems are installed, commissioned, and maintained safely and reliably while managing site logistics efficiently.



Key Responsibilities – Installation, Maintenance & Site Support
  • Install, wire, and terminate fire alarm devices and panels including detectors, call points, sounders, interface modules, and ancillary equipment according to drawings, specifications, and manufacturer instructions.



  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and remedial repairs on conventional and addressable fire alarm systems to ensure operational reliability.



  • Conduct system commissioning, functional testing, loop integrity checks, and complete associated test certificates and documentation.



  • Respond to service calls and emergency faults, diagnosing problems efficiently and implementing safe, practical solutions.



  • Drive company vehicles to transport personnel, tools, and materials between depots, project sites, and suppliers, ensuring timely arrival and safe route compliance.



  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform basic vehicle checks, and report defects in line with company procedures.



  • Maintain accurate job records, including service reports, timesheets, material usage, and parts requisitions; update the field service management system as required.



  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and site supervisors to ensure smooth access, permits, and handover activities.



  • Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies on site and during driving duties; use appropriate PPE and safe working methods.



  • Keep stock of commonly used spares and consumables in the vehicle and request replenishment to avoid delays.



Essential Skills – Technical Competence & Communication
  • Proven experience installing, commissioning, and maintaining fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable).



  • Competence in fault diagnosis, loop testing, and use of multimeters, insulation testers, and programming tools.



  • Safe driving skills with a valid UAE driving licence; experience driving light commercial vehicles.



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with clients, site personnel, and internal teams.



  • Organisational skills to manage multiple daily tasks, tools, and job priorities.



  • Basic IT literacy to use email, mobile apps, and update job management systems.

  • Valid UAE driving licence with a clean driving record; additional certifications are advantageous but not required.



  • Familiarity with UAE Civil Defence and ability to apply them on site.



  • Willingness to work occasional unsocial hours or attend emergency call-outs as required.



  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are beneficial but not essential.
