Job Description
  • Supervise and monitor railway track construction activities in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate track works including: Ballasted track Ballastless/slab track Rail installation Sleeper installation Turnouts and crossings Track alignment and geometry
  • Review and verify shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to track works.
  • Ensure track construction complies with railway standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
  • Monitor earthworks, formation preparation, and subgrade conditions before track installation.
  • Coordinate with survey teams for track alignment, levels, and setting out verification.
  • Supervise rail welding, fastening systems, and track fixing activities.
  • Inspect ballast placement, compaction, and track stabilization works.
  • Verify rail levels, gauge, cant, alignment, and track geometry tolerances.
  • Coordinate interface works with: Civil structures Stations Utilities Signaling systems MEP systems
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Review inspection requests and ensure timely closure of WIRs and inspection records.
  • Raise NCRs and site observations for non-compliant works.
  • Monitor contractor progress against approved baseline program and construction schedule.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Coordinate with client, consultant, contractor, and railway authorities during execution.
  • Ensure implementation of approved safety procedures and railway operational safety requirements.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities related to track systems.
  • Participate in track inspections, snagging, and handover activities.
  • Review as-built drawings and final documentation before project handover.
  • Monitor material delivery, storage, and handling of rails, sleepers, fasteners, and track components.
  • Assist Resident Engineer and Project Manager in resolving technical and construction issues.
  • Ensure compliance with international railway standards and project specifications.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on rail/metro track works and infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience in monitoring formation preparation, subgrade conditions, and readiness for track installation
  • Demonstrated expertise in coordinating with survey teams for track alignment, levels, and setting-out verification
  • Hands-on experience supervising rail welding, fastening systems, and track installation/fixing activities
  • Strong knowledge of ballast placement, compaction techniques, and track stabilization processes
  • In-depth understanding of track geometry requirements, including rail levels, gauge, cant, alignment, and tolerance control
  • Experience in coordinating complex interface works across multiple disciplines, including:


    • Civil structures
    • Stations
    • Utilities
    • Signaling systems
    • MEP systems
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, specifications, and inspection/test plans (ITPs)


  • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills within a multi-disciplinary rail project environment
