About the job DPS Resident Engineer

Position Overview:


Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented DPS Resident Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will lead the Data Protection & Back-Up Systems and Optimization. He/she will also take charge of the end to end process of DPS, ensuring the, availability, integrity, and recovery of the data.


Key Responsibilities & Role:


  • Monitor and maintain Data Protection & Backup systems
  • Perform capacity planning, data tiering, and Data Protection & Backup optimization tasks.
  • Assist in data migration, archiving, and retention activities.
  • Ensure data availability, integrity, and backup/recovery processes.
  • Support incident resolution and escalate complex Data Protection & Backup issues to L3.
  • Apply security policies and access controls on file and object data.
  • Document configurations, changes, and standard procedures.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on data-related needs.
  • Mentor support staff, advise on best practices, and drive process improvements.
  • Participate in TARB committee as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Bachelors Degree in IT/Software Engineering, or any similar degree is required.
  • Solid experience in Data Management.
  • Background in IT Security is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity in Data Protection & Back-Up Platforms (Ex: Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, Dell, IBM, or any similar platform).
  • Ability to work independently, and alongside a team as needed.
  • Strong English and communication skills.
  • Key attention to detail.
