1. Sludge Removal & Cleaning Operations
Carry out manual and mechanical desludging of tanks, separators, pipelines, and drainage pits on offshore facilities.
Operate vacuum trucks, suction pumps, hydro-jetting units, and pressure washers to remove accumulated sludge, oil residues, and waste.
Transport waste materials to designated offshore containment units in compliance with HSE procedures.
2. Equipment Handling & Maintenance
Set up and safely operate hoses, suction nozzles, pumps, and related desludging equipment.
Perform routine maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting of equipment to ensure readiness and efficiency.
Report any malfunctioning equipment or safety concerns to the offshore supervisor.
3. HSE & Safety Compliance
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Permit to Work (PTW) systems, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) requirements.
Adhere to HSE protocols, especially for working in confined spaces, handling hazardous waste, and gas detection procedures.
Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), harnesses, and chemical suits.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Record operational data such as sludge volume removed, hours worked, equipment usage, and abnormalities during shifts.
Complete work logs, maintenance records, and waste transfer documentation accurately.
Assist in the preparation of reports for supervisors and HSE audits.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in industrial or offshore desludging, tank cleaning, or related operations.
High school certificate or technical training in industrial maintenance or mechanical systems (preferred).
Knowledge of hazardous waste handling, confined space entry, and emergency response procedures.
Physically fit to handle demanding offshore working conditions, long hours, and high-risk environments.
Valid offshore certifications such as BOSIET, H2S, Confined Space Entry, and Working at Heights.
